Key responsibilities are preparing and maintaining complex cash flow reports. These include 5-year forecasting. Segregate transactions by various categories and verify the accuracy of recorded information. Analyze the cash flow, cost controls and expenses to  identify areas for improvement or correction. Other responsibilities include 
strategic analysis and planning, property management accounting with “hands-on” involvement in annual budgets and CAM reconciliation processes. You’ll aid in the review and preparation of monthly operations reporting, and account for complex commercial real estate transactions including the purchase, construction, sale, financing and property management of said properties. 

Qualifications include:

  • Degree in finance or accounting, a licensed CPA (inactive is fine, public accounting experience is preferred - but comparable experience works, too).
  • Minimum of 10 years comprehensive real estate accounting experience including budgeting, forecasting and financial modeling.
  • Prior employment with at least one organization with multiple inter-related entities
  • Advanced Excel skills, analytical skills with extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines.

This multifamily property investment firm seeks your skills to provide coordinating of funds. This is an integrated privately held operator of predominantly residential properties countrywide. You will support and maintain the general ledger, record revenue, accrue expenses, work with monthly financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, profit and loss analysis and consolidated and or combined financial statements.

Prefers prior consolidations experience recording minority interest, investment accounting using the equity method, the cost method versus consolidation, preferred return calculations, and waterfalls for investors. Most know Excel and Word. Property Management software experience is necessary. Must have a perfect command of the English language with the ability to speak and write effectively.

MUST have a degree in accounting or finance and multifamily accounting experience.

Intimate office environment: commercial property owner / manager seeking a Controller with experience in accounting for complex transactions for asset acquisitions, dispositions, and corporate accounting. This is a client leans towards an institutional platform. Client works across class lines/ property types and is vertically integrated. A background in funding, investing, partnership reporting is preferred with prior real estate experience. Your department of four will be processing rent rolls, billings, adjustments, credits…also reviewing receivables aging, performing monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, maintaining general ledger, preparing profit and loss variance analysis. A hands on knowledge of CAMs and CAM escalation would be helpful. Will be responsible for rent and expense forecasts, annual budget and analysis, posting of investor distribution, accruals, acquisitions, property and asset management fees.

Requires a degree from a credible school, 5 - 8 years of experience in real estate level accounting with ample public accounting experience and a California CPA preferred.Should be proficient in Yardi and highly analytical with good communication skills. Privately held owner / RE investment company as over 1.2 billion in assets with 100+ properties and over 7.5 million sf. Investments are varied: retail, office, hospitality, residential; 185 entities. This is one calm entity with no drama.

The job is more of an asset management accounting. No AP, no AR. Your job is to review the work of the 3rd party management companies. Responsible for overseeing monthly review of properties / entity books kept in-house or posting 3rd party monthly reports. You will prepare annual tax work paper packages for review and forward to outside tax preparers. Main focus is bank reconciliations, reclassifying, coordinating with property management accountants.
Also necessary to book purchases and sales, capital analysis and tracking of P & L , tie outs to tax returns. If you love trouble shooting - you’ll love it here.
